Australia
- November 2005

After a great week-long sail from New Caledonia, we arrived in Brisbane on 15 November 2005. |

We would like to be in Oz for a while, but have to get Tom through the immigration process first - there is money to pay and oodles of paperwork to do, including getting a statement of Tom's criminal record (lack of!) from the Police back in Scotland, before approval is granted. Then he will be free to join the workforce in Oz and we may stay for a while if we can find good jobs. Sue is glad to be home and Tom's enjoying it too. To get to Perth, 4200km from Brisbane, we bought a twenty-year-old camper van and drove across. The two-week trip certainly reinforced the size of Australia in our minds as well as giving us a quick tour. We arrived on the 23rd December, just in time for Christmas with Sue's family - for the first time in nine years. We moved into a rented house in mid-January (see Latest page for details) and hope to get jobs in the next month or so.
